I have played the drums for over 30 years, playing every possible scenario. From bar mitzvahs and weddings to stadiums with number #1 pop stars. People often ask me what the most important piece of equipment I own is. My answer is simple: my stool.
It amazes me to see people spend 2k on a drum kit at a drum store, then buy the cheapest stool they can find on eBay

This is the cheapest seat I would recommend. This is actually well worth the money for one reason. It is 'double braced'. That means there are 2 support beams underneath the stool. This will guarantee it won't break on you while you are playing 'Chop Suey' in your bedroom.
Never, under any circumstances, buy a single-braced stool. It is an accident waiting to happen!
