What a gentle tune to work to, is what I thought the first time I played Gentle by Last BeNeVoLeNcE. It starts as a sweet lo-fi hip-hop beat, gets its own soft vocals by the middle, and receives a Jazz-y twist by the end.
This cute lo-fi type beat is available on Bandcamp right now, but you’ll have to wait a bit more to listen to the whole album. The full collection, called Modal Fidelity, is planned to be released on June 7, 2024. Show the artist some love if you like what they’re doing here.

Light Em' Up - Bernadoobie
In their latest album, Bernadoobie takes listeners on a trip to Mars and back. Water Street Beats is what it’s called, and it’s not going to be released until April 20th. But the artist has given us a taste test (three of them, to be more exact) including the trippy Light Em' Up.
This beat gives ancient Egypt and electro dance at the same time, but not in an overwhelmingly party way. It’s chill but still quite powerful.

COUNTRY LANES N HEDGEROWS - Citizen Nuggz & Charmandem
Charmandem's badass beats make the backdrop for Citizen Nuggz's hot vocals. He’s a lyricist alright, and he isn’t shy to show off. Country Lanes N Hedgerows is relentless and hard, and would be the perfect song version for one-two punch moves the way the beat hits you and the vocals knock you dead.

Doomsday Pt.2 - Aktivist
I wasn’t about to miss out on underground hip-hop style releases in this post so I present to you, Doomsday Pt. 2. This one is the last track on the album The MTBMB Sessions: Features and I loved it for its originality. The artist has a lot to say and if you lend him your ear for a few minutes, you’ll likely be deep in thought like I was.

Shell Splitter - Street Da' Villan
Shell Splitter is a badass track with more of that gangster hip-hop vibe compared to other tracks on this list. The beat is truly on point and the lyrics glide smoothly like butter on toast. This is the first track on the artist’s last album, Drunken Master, and it DOES live up to the name.
According to the artist himself, the album was inspired by the old Drunken Master tale and his Kung Fu style. And if that doesn’t make you want to check him out, then I don’t know what will.

WarWolf - Zombi3Cult
Have you ever heard of horror-core hip-hop? Well, you are now. I chose this song because I liked it very much for its beat, vocals, and authenticity.
Why horror-core? Because it reflects their dark and twisted worldview. Let's just say they're pretty into, well, things that go bump in the night (and maybe even worship a higher power called Kult Der Toten, which sounds pretty metal).
