A Place To Bury Strangers - Acid Rain

Taken from the upcoming album Rare And Deadly out on April 3 via Dedstrange, Acid Rain was written during the first Trump presidency and carries Oliver Ackermann's anger and disbelief at how cruelty became normalized, with chants recorded during the George Floyd protests woven directly into the song.

"Cover your eyes // Cover your face // Walk in line // Don't embrace" hit like a warning siren. The video pushes that urgency even further, capturing the band performing the track live on a moving New York subway train, shot guerrilla-style as it rattles across the Williamsburg Bridge.

A raw, unscripted moment that feels just as urgent and alive as the song itself.

The Darts - Apocalypse

The Darts kick the door open with Apocalypse, a fuzz-drenched garage rocker from Halloween Love Songs. Inspired by the medieval Apocalypse Tapestry in France, the track turns the end of the world into something strangely liberating.

With caveman rhythms and swirling organ lines, it feels like a midnight party in the middle of a cosmic meltdown. And when Nicole Laurenne sings "no future, no kings" it lands like a wild, rebellious mantra you can shout along to.

Tombstones In Their Eyes - You Never Have to Love Me

Article photo - The New Rock Generation - March 2026

Tombstones In Their Eyes drift through hazy reflection on You Never Have to Love Me, taken from their album Under Dark Skies. The song circles that difficult moment when you finally look inward and face your own mistakes.

"I've lived a lot of lives, I've lived a lot of lies" - a line that carries an honesty John Treanor describes while reflecting on a difficult emotional period. It's a thoughtful track about acknowledging failures and trying to find grace, starting with learning how to love yourself first.

Krooked Tongue - Blood Shark

Article photo - The New Rock Generation - March 2026

Blood Shark hits hard from the first second; fuzzed-out guitars, racing drums, and a vocal delivery that feels ready to burst through the speakers. The track comes from Krooked Tongue's upcoming debut album, I Know A Place, arriving April 24, 2026.

At its core, the song takes aim at the excuses and inertia that keep us from doing what we really want. The image of a "Blood Shark that waits at the bottom of your grave" becomes a dark metaphor for a life left unfulfilled and a reminder that it's still possible to fight back.

About You - Master Plan

Master Plan by About You feels like the soundtrack to a leap of faith. Written during a cross-country roadtrip while Poscente moved out of Boston, the song captures that moment when you step into the unknown and trust the universe to guide the way.

Taken from their debut album, The Lighthouse, The Storm, the song reflects the excitement and uncertainty of starting over and believing the journey will lead somewhere meaningful.

Junoplast Cave - That Me - Live in Amazonia

Junoplast Cave take things somewhere truly different with That Me - Live in Amazonia, recorded at sunrise on a floating raft deep in the Amazon rainforest. The performance blends heavy rock energy with the atmosphere of the forest itself: morning mist, water, and the natural sounds surrounding the band.

It's an immersive moment where the environment becomes part of the performance, turning the rainforest into a stage for the band's intense and atmospheric sound.

The Blackburns bring a playful idea to life with A Reunion Show (Rated PG-13). The song imagines that dream scenario every fan secretly hopes for: your favorite band getting back together with the original lineup. Of course, the title hints that things might not go exactly as planned.

It's the first taste of their upcoming album Alternative Rock, arriving April 24, and a fun introduction to what the band has in store.

Last Week's Horse introduces the next chapter for Happy Just To See You and their upcoming third album of the same name. The band leans further into their alt-country side, blending twang with the restless energy of New England emo.

The title track sets the tone for the record's refined direction while keeping the band's earnest indie-rock spirit front and center. With guest vocals and keys from Courtney Swain, it offers the first glimpse of where the album is heading.

Mixed Signals - Different Frequencies

Scotland’s Mixed Signals take a big step forward with Different Frequencies. What began as a soft acoustic idea eventually grew into a full-blown modern rock track, reshaped in the studio with producer Tayte Nickols.

Lyrically, the song explores a relationship held together by the fear of being apart, even when both people know something isn’t working. That push and pull sits right at the center of the track.

For a band that only formed in 2024, it feels like a confident moment in their fast-growing story.

Scaredy Cat arrives as part of Mylo Bybee's new EP Revisions, out now via Gold Ship Records. The Boise-based band continues exploring the emotionally resonant alt-rock sound that runs through the record.

The EP captures a band in transition: reflective but still moving forward, expanding both their sound and emotional range. Scaredy Cat fits naturally into that space.

Pope - Newboi

After more than eight years away, New Orleans rock band Pope return with Newboi, the first taste of their upcoming album BFM, arriving April 30, 2026 via Rite Field Records.

Built around undeniable hooks and catchy riffs, the song digs into the frustrating cycle of repeating the same mistakes. As the band explains, it's about justifying behavior you know is hurting you, but still struggling to break the pattern.

A sharp and honest comeback from the trio.

Isolation - England's Burning

Manchester newcomers Isolation arrive with urgency on England's Burning. Fueled by driving guitars and tight rhythms, the song channels worries about the state of the country today while keeping its energy firmly rooted in indie rock.

"I picture my great country as it drives off in a hearse" underline the song's stark imagery. At the same time, the track carries the late-90s and early-2000s spirit the band brings into the present.

Brontës bring some cheeky anti-Valentine’s spirit with Wouldn't Be Me, a punchy single from their upcoming self-titled debut album, arriving April 21, 2026 via Last Night From Glasgow.

The song tackles that familiar situation of watching a friend date someone who clearly isn't good enough for them. With a playful edge, it basically delivers one simple message: maybe it's time to dump him.

A fun and confident glimpse of the Glasgow band's debut album.

Forest - Prosthetic Stars

Forest's Prosthetic Stars arrives with brightly toned synths and stadium-ready guitar riffs that rise beneath her powerful vocals. Written after moving to Los Angeles, the song reflects a moment of realization - throwing yourself into distractions that don't really mean much.

As Forest explains, it came from a time when she recognized the relationship she was in was simply another diversion. That mix of desire and discomfort gives the track its emotional gravity.

Endearments - Marianne

Article photo - The New Rock Generation - March 2026

Endearments dive into the uncertainty of early love on Marianne, taken from their debut album An Always Open Door. The track wrestles with mixed messages and the distance between two people still figuring things out.

It opens with a quiet moment before sunburnt guitar riffs and thundering drums arrive in full force. Lines like "So high, the hotel room is spinning on its side" capture that dizzy feeling when emotions start getting complicated.
