Bad Waitress - Loving Kind

"Tell you I love you / Then destroy you" is not exactly a love letter, and Bad Waitress clearly know it. Loving Kind turns attraction, resentment and self-sabotage into a beautifully ugly knot, with Kali-Ann Butala shifting between melody, sneer and something that feels dangerously close to a warning.

Taken from In The Hollow (out October 30), it's art-punk with teeth: come closer, don't come too close, and whatever happens next is probably your fault too.

R-NØT - Marmalade

Article photo - Punk Underground - September 2026

There's something deliciously sticky about Marmalade. Those chunky guitars and soaring melodies cling to the brain like the best '90s alternative hooks, while the punk edge keeps kicking the door. R-NØT's dual vocals give the song extra bite and lift, balancing its rawness with a big melodic pull.

Taken from Gaslighter // Part 2, it feels less like nostalgia than a familiar guitar record suddenly waking up in 2026.

Hometown Heroes - Medicated

Medicated sounds like trying to outrun your own head with the volume turned all the way up. Hometown Heroes throw heavy riffs, breakdowns and pop-punk melody into a song about coping, mental noise and the search for some kind of balance. The vocals keep the hooks within reach while the guitars hit harder underneath.

A debut single that feels built for yelling along when your thoughts won't shut up.

The Hellflowers - Wild Ones

"No one can chain us / No one can rearrange us" - there's the whole damn attitude. Wild Ones turns melodic punk hooks into a refusal to be labelled, managed or made smaller, with Christina Eskew delivering the words like she means every syllable.

Taken from the forthcoming Haunted, this is punk with its fists up and its identity firmly in its own hands.

Buenos Vampiros - Mundo raro

Mundo raro feels like staring at a city that has somehow become stranger overnight; sharp guitars, restrained rage and raw punk energy pushing disillusionment into motion. Buenos Vampiros make the frustration feel physical without overplaying it, leaving plenty of tension between the notes.

Taken from El último disparo, it sits at the point where post-punk urgency meets the album's darker dream-pop melancholy. A strange world, indeed.

Samuel Virgo - ICU

Article photo - Punk Underground - September 2026

ICU has the strange sensation of watching reality through a cracked window: the picture is there, but who gets to decide what it means? Samuel Virgo's guitar-led, repetitive structure pulls indie, alternative and post-punk instincts into something hypnotic, while the lyrics circle narratives, deception and buried truths.

It's the first glimpse of his upcoming EP, and Virgo's self-produced approach gives the track an unsettling closeness.

People Laughing - Three Eyes

Three Eyes is what happens when death anxiety gets dragged into a sweaty rehearsal room and told to make some noise. Matt Grocott's vocals sound ferocious against relentless drums and dirty, distorted bass, while "This life is not forgiving"keeps returning like a thought you can't shake.

It's darker and heavier than People Laughing's earlier material. A frantic little spiral that somehow still finds room for hooks.

Mad Tab - Don't Blink

Article photo - Punk Underground - September 2026

Don't Blink doesn’t romanticise a racing mind. It runs alongside it. This SoCal punk-ska cut moves fast and direct, turning the exhaustion of chasing answers, losing focus and starting ten things at once into something you can actually shout through.

Taken from the forthcoming album alas... the bomb voyage!, it captures that brutal little thought at the heart of the song: what you’re looking for might have been right in front of you the whole time.

Massive Nightmares - Get Bent

Article photo - Punk Underground - September 2026

Get Bent feels like stepping outside at 3 a.m. and realising the night has become its own bizarre little universe. Massive Nightmares' indie-punk comes loaded with palm-muted guitars, hooks, harmonies and a chorus that opens everything up, turning the chaos into a party you probably shouldn't trust.

Taken from Ain't My World out on October 30th, it carries that After Hours-inspired blur of conversations, colours and bad decisions. Basically the soundtrack to an end-of-the-world party where everyone forgot to panic.

K-Man & The 45s - We Won’t Stop

Article photo - Punk Underground - September 2026

The title says everything, but "Leaders are shit" says it louder. K-Man & The 45s smash two-tone ska, punk urgency and rock 'n' roll grit together until the whole thing feels ready to spill out of a packed Montreal room and onto the street.

Taken from the upcoming album Heed The Call out October 9, We Won't Stop isn't interested in polite dissent. It wants horns blaring, voices raised and absolutely no room left to stand still.

Integra Pink - Magic 8Ball

There's something painfully punk about asking a plastic fortuneteller for answers because two people can’t give each other any. The track previews the forthcoming Knucks (Right), and it leaves the answer deliciously unresolved.
