This is a real gem of an amp. Well made, great features and sound. The option of connecting to external speakers is great too.

I got this amp for christmas and it's great. The sound production is very high quality due to the 12 inch driver and the tweeter, It has plenty of inputs for all your needs, and for such a powerful amp it's surprisingly compact. One brief thing to mention, this is a big amp so for those looking for an amp for small venues, this one's a little too powerful

"The Laney AH200 is not too heavy to..."

    5

The Laney AH200 is not too heavy to lift single handed and has handles both on the sides and on the top. It say it's a 160 watt unit but I also use it to drive a second speaker giving a 300 mono output. I hear no distortion at high levels and I use it for a monitor when gigging as a singer and also I use it to amplify my keyboards in the band. Excellent value for money. I would recommend this if you need a keyboard amp. Don't spend money on other manufacturers thinking that you will get a better sound because you won't. I used two Marshall combo's for years until they became worn out and old. The Laney amp is just as good as the Marshall. I can't fault it.

I bought a 4 year old Laney AH200 ( AudioHub )amp in July 2010 for $300 AUD which was in pristine condition. I had been looking to buy a guitar amp and also a keyboard amp, and something that I could play my Roland TD8 electronic drums through, but didn't want to buy separate amps. I had never previously heard of the AH200, but saw one advertised locally on Ebay, and went and checked it out and bought it. I am very impressed with the crisp clarity of the sound and the useful number of channels. It is not too heavy to carry. It handled all instuments very well, even a bass guitar. The 165 watts of power is very handy, especially if you want to send the sound to 2 external 8 Ohm speakers. A great amp! Typical of Laney quality and their mantra of wanting to achieve good tone from an amp. Highly recommended!

"If you play the piano professionally..."

    3

If you play the piano professionally you need the bigger amp. The 12" speaker is not enough for live performances. For what it does it is fine. I returned mine and now I am playing a more powerful amp with a 15" speaker. Laney makes an AH300 I really want, but it is 140€ more. Worth it, but then there are a lot of good ones out there at that price point. I will say that the tilt back feature is a huge plus! Every pianist wants an amp that faces up at and angle, not blowing past their ankles! If you want a personal monitor played at low volume for studio work this one is clean and crisp. But, there is nothing better than a big, powerful amp when you are on stage and need to cut through the mix with a huge introduction on a song by Ronnie Milsap or Bruce Hornsby!
